Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Optimize. Health. Healing.
A Manual Lymphatic drainage treatment is conducted by a licensed pracitioner that utilizes manual techniques to stimulate and facilitate the natural flow of lymph throughout the lymphatic system.
Lymphatic drainage treatment is typically performed by our trained therapist using gentle, rhythmic hand movements. The therapist applies light pressure and circular motions on specific areas of the body where lymph nodes are located, such as the neck, armpits, groin, and limbs. The massage technique encourages the movement of lymph fluid, enhancing the drainage and detoxification process.

1. What is post-plastic surgery lymphatic drainage?
It’s a specialized massage technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, reduce swelling, minimize bruising, and support faster healing after plastic surgery.
2. When can I start lymphatic drainage after surgery?
The timing depends on your surgeon’s recommendations, but many patients can begin within the first week post-surgery, once any immediate surgical swelling subsides. Always consult your doctor before starting.
3. Is lymphatic drainage painful?
No, it’s a gentle, non-invasive technique. The light touch ensures there’s no interference with healing incisions or discomfort during the session.
4. How many sessions will I need?
This varies based on the procedure and individual healing process. Typically, 4-10 sessions are recommended, with more for extensive surgeries like liposuction or tummy tucks.
5. Can it help with scar tissue?
Yes, lymphatic drainage improves circulation, which can help reduce scar tissue formation and promote smoother healing.
6. How long is each session?
Sessions generally last 30-60 minutes, depending on the treatment area and the extent of swelling.
7. What should I wear to the session?
You can wear loose, comfortable clothing. Your therapist may ask you to expose specific areas for treatment, but privacy and comfort are prioritized.
8. Are there any risks or side effects?
Lymphatic drainage is safe for most people, but mild side effects like increased urination or slight fatigue can occur as the body processes excess fluids. Avoid treatment if you have infections, blood clots, or uncontrolled health conditions.
9. How quickly will I see results?
Many patients notice reduced swelling and discomfort after just one session. However, consistent treatments yield the best long-term results.
10. Can I perform lymphatic drainage at home?
While there are simple techniques you can do at home, professional treatments are most effective post-surgery. If considering at-home care, ask your therapist for guidance to avoid improper technique.

Part of the immune system, the lymphatic system is a series of structures that carry a fluid called lymph through the body. These structures include lymph nodes, vessels, and organs.
Lymph is somewhat like blood, and it is used to remove fluids, waste, toxins, and lactic acid from the body. Additionally, it aids in the delivery of nutrients throughout the body.
When the lymphatic system isn’t working properly, toxins build up in a number of areas. This can result in several issues, including weight gain, fatigue, stress, cognitive impairment, and difficulty fighting off illnesses and infections.
Ballancer®Pro treatments help the lymphatic system work at an optimal level. Pressure, when used specifically to target different areas, encourages the proper movement of lymph throughout the body.
