Modrn Microchanneling.

Smooth.

This one-of-a-kind, painless treatment creates thousands of tiny microchannels in the skin to aid the deeper penetration of active ingredients. This enhanced diffusion of epidermal growth factors, antioxidants, and other active ingredients goes to work directly on the targeted layers deep within the skin. Advanced cosmeceutical products further enhance this process to stimulate collagen growth, boost hydration levels, combat free radical damage, and encourage skin renewal. This avant-garde treatment both prevents and corrects the appearance of skin aging for a fresh, glowing complexion.

  • Microchanneling is a collagen induction therapy (CIT), which is creating controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair process by making deliberate micro injuries to the skin. This then creates and triggers the release of growth factors for the production of new collagen and elastin, which is what we lose as we age.

Modrn Sanctuary is pleased to offer Microchanneling treatments in order to help clients elevate their skins appearance. Microchanneling is a skin needling treatment that is similar to, but less invasive treatment than microneedling. Used to improve a variety of skin concerns, our microchanneling treatment can help with wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, discoloration, and age spots. It is a safe and effective treatment that can be performed on almost all skin types.

All treatments include cleansing, microchanneling treatment with serum, and post treatment specialized mask, and moisturizing.

  • AFTER-CARE

    24 Hours After Microchanneling:

You can wash your face with a gentle cleanser and use a nourishing moisturizer. Avoid products that contain fragrance, active ingredients (vitamin C, vitamin a, retinol), acids (AHA, BHA, lactic), physical scrubs, and toners that may irritate the skin.

At this stage, you may experience some mild swelling, peeling, bruising, and flaking. To minimize these effects, keep the skin moisturized. Moisturizing will also reduce shedding and alleviate the feeling of tightness.

Avoid exercising, excessively sweating, swimming, or applying makeup for 24 hours. You must use a high protection sunscreen when going outdoors and avoid prolonged sun exposure.

    48 Hours After Microchanneling:

Optional: If you have dry and flaking skin, you can gently exfoliate to speed up recovery. Do not use a chemical or harsh physical exfoliant; opt for a washcloth.

And if your skin feels sensitive, do not exfoliate yet; it will subside soon. Continue to hydrate the skin twice per day.

    3-5 Days After Microchanneling:

Apply high protection sunscreen daily, avoid direct and extended sunlight. Focus on hydrating and moisturizing products and avoiding active ingredients, scrubs, acids, and toners.

    7+ Day After Microneedling:

Return to your regular skincare routine!

Microchanneling can make your skin more photosensitive. Any sun exposure without adequate sunscreen can increase your risk of developing hyperpigmentation, always wear a broad-spectrum SPF of at least 50+, and ideally a mineral-based sunscreen.

  • Treatments are spaced 1-2 weeks apart.

After microchanneling, redness is typical - this may last for a day or so depending on your skin.

  • As with all cosmeceutical treatments, some individuals will need to take greater safety precautions. There are some conditions that will preclude individuals from safely performing microchanneling, or will mean that microchanneling will need to be cleared by your medical professional first.

    Some of these conditions include:

Abnormal skin conditions - If you’ve got abnormal skin conditions (such as cold sores (Herpes Simplex virus), bruised skin, eczema, rosacea, contagious skin conditions, active acne, fungal infections, rashes or skin cancer), then you should take precaution and check with your medical professional before commencing any microchanneling.

Skin conditions don’t necessarily mean that you will not be able to microchanneling, but precaution must be taken to avoid triggering an inflammatory skin response that will worsen any of the above conditions, so please check with your doctor first.

Keloid scarring - If you’ve ever had keloid scarring (raised scarring), you should also check with your medical professional before microchanneling.

microchanneling stimulates a trauma/healing response in the skin, so if your skin’s natural response is to produce a keloid scar, microchanneling may trigger an undesirable response.

Medications - If you’re taking medications such as accutane, antibiotics, antidepressants, medications that cause photosensitivity or high blood pressure, please consult your medical professional before commencing microchanneling.

Some medications will mean that you are unable to microchanneling, others will simply mean that you can microchanneling with caution under your doctor’s guidance. It’s crucial to double check this suitability first before you start microchanneling.

Cosmetic treatments - If you’re undergoing cosmetic treatments including chemical peels, laser, cosmetic surgery, filler injections, or cosmetic surgery, it’s necessary to wait until your skin fully recovers before commencing microchanneling. Make sure to check with your medical professional before you start microchanneling to make sure it will not interfere with any of your cosmetic procedure results.

What is Microchanneling and How Does it Work?

Microchanneling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive procedure that stimulates collagen production and promotes skin rejuvenation. It involves creating microscopic channels in the skin using a specialized device with tiny needles. These channels trigger the body's natural healing response, resulting in increased collagen and elastin production, improved skin texture, and reduced signs of aging.

Is Microchanneling Suitable for All Skin Types?

Microchanneling is suitable for a wide range of skin types and concerns. Whether you have dry, oily, sensitive, or combination skin, our experienced practitioners can customize the treatment to address your specific needs. However, it is important to consult with our professionals to determine if microchanneling is suitable for your unique skin condition and to discuss any potential risks or contraindications.
